Honey Bee Hills Farm, Prospect Hill, North Carolina
When Liz and Rich Mason started Honey Bee Hills Farm in September 2017, they had no previous farming experience. "We learned everything from the internet, books, and local farmers," says Liz. A little more than a year later, the farm, which is officially certified as USDA Organic, produces five acres of fresh organic produce, honey from 10 beehives and eggs from a flock of 80 chickens. "
"We love farming in Caswell County. We’re close to markets and customers in the Triangle and Piedmont, and we’re also part of a growing, active and connected Caswell County farming and local foods community," says Liz. "As entrepreneurs, we’ve counted on resources like Caswell’s Inspected Community Kitchen and peer networks like the Caswell Women in Agriculture, just to name a few."
